Loco Moco : Hawai‘i is home to some of the most unique and delicious dishes in the world. One of the most popular of these dishes is Loco Moco. It is a contemporary Hawaiian dish featuring a bed of rice topped with hamburger, a fried egg, and brown gravy. Loco Moco was allegedly invented as an inexpensive, filling, and convenient lunch option for kids on the go.
Garlic Shrimp : Garlic shrimp is a staple in Hawai‘i and can often be found served in food trucks and restaurants all along the Hawaiian Islands. This delicious, fresh meal is bursting with flavor, thanks to the addition of plenty of fresh garlic that is caramelized to perfection. Most garlic shrimp is first marinated in a blend of olive oil, garlic, and lemon butter for the most flavor possible. Resembling the Japanese culinary favorite known as onigiri, musubi is made with a base of packed white rice topped with the meat or fish, wrapped around the midsection with a piece of seaweed.
