Hawaii’s Favorite Garlic Shrimp

When it comes to Hawaiian food, few things beat their famous garlic shrimp. Given the location of the Hawaiian Islands, seafood is undoubtedly a delicious aspect of traditional Hawaiian cuisine. The access to fresh seafood year-round is a leading catalyst of the seafood-centric cuisine of Hawaii’s culture, including the creation of everyone’s favorite: Garlic Shrimp.

Garlic shrimp is a staple in Hawaii and can often be found served in food trucks and restaurants all along the Hawaiian Islands. This delicious, fresh meal is bursting with flavor, thanks to the addition of plenty of fresh garlic that is caramelized to perfection. Most garlic shrimp is first marinated in a blend of olive oil, garlic, and lemon butter for the most flavor possible. After marination, the shrimp is then cooked to perfection, resulting in the caramelization of the garlic. These flavor-packed shrimp are served with rice (one or two scoops) and drizzled with more of the decadent lemon-garlic sauce.

At L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in Plano, Texas, we have a number of shrimp specialties that our customers know and love. Of course, we offer the Hawaiian favorite: Garlic Shrimp, featuring sauteed prawns with a rich garlic and butter sauce with a sprinkling of pepper. For a lighter option, we also transform our signature garlic shrimp into a salad made with fresh lettuce for a crisp and healthy option.

Voted “Best Plate Lunch in Hawaii,” we proudly serve many different traditional Hawaiian entrees that bring the flavors of the Islands to Texas. All of our entrees on our menu can be made in two sizes: Regular and Aloha. Our Regular is served with one scoop of rice and one scoop of mac salad, while our Aloha plate comes with extra meat served with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of mac salad. You can also choose to substitute rice or mac salad with any side.

In addition to our garlic shrimp specialties, we also offer many other traditional Hawaiian entrees, including Chicken Katsu, Musubi, burgers, Saimin, and our famous BBQ Mix Plate: A blend of three famous BBQ mixes, including beef, short ribs, and chicken, all served with rice and mac salad in either Regular or Aloha size.
